Andrew Hobbs:
Andrew Hobbs launched CENTRFOLD in 2001 with Warren Beeby, at the time Creative Director of Spin. In 2003, they launched issue 01 of CENTREFOLD magazine and collaboratively worked on issue 02 before Andrew assumed the role of Executive Creative Director. Subsequently, Andrew closely collaborated with respected guest design agencies for several issues before assembling his in-house team based between London and New York.
During this period, Andrew continued to work both in photography and design for clients, including photography for magazines such as i-D, Interview, Monocle, Rolling Stone, and Vogue, and for brands such as Globe Trotter, Louis Vuitton, Mackintosh, and Nike. Notable figures in music and film, including Eminem, Kylie, Missy Elliot, Mark Wahlberg, Monica Bellucci, and the late Jane Birkin, sought Andrew's expertise. Andrew's Creative Direction projects include work for ABASK, AREA, Calvin Klein, Comme des Garçons, French Connection and Jil Sander.
CENTREFOLD magazine reached a milestone with Issue 04, winning the prestigious title of "Best Magazine of the Year." The judging panel included luminaries such as Peter Saville and the late great typographer Wim Crouwel.

Maria Chen:
Maria Chen, the feminine face of modern conceptual fashion, merges contemporary art, culture, and applied arts throughout her journey. Inspired by the resilient women she admired during her childhood in Taiwan, she immersed herself in illustration and art, laying the foundation for her fashion career.
From the start of her namesake brand, Maria transformed printing and textiles, exploring upcycling and reconstruction techniques. As an early advocate for gender-inclusive style, she crafted a timeless, individualised look. Awarded the Hermes menswear bursary in the early 1990s, Maria earned an MA from Central Saint Martins, where she was mentored by Louise Wilson (OBE), and pursued a doctorate at the Royal College of Art. Her namesake label earned her recognition as a Jerwood Design Award finalist and made her the first Taiwanese woman to receive the British Fashion Council NewGen award at London Fashion Week.
Collaborations with Adidas and Topshop preceded Maria's design leadership roles at Calvin Klein Jeans and The Gap. Partnerships with feminist design leaders like Rebekka Bay and Phoebe Philo have been highly influential to her creative approach. Intrigued by the voice of commercial brands, Maria extended her design work into both luxury and premium sectors. In 2024, Maria joined the Board of Trustees at esea contemporary, further expanding her influence in the arts.
Rediscovering drawing, Maria continues to refine her minimalist aesthetic, drawing inspiration from Asian art. Dedicated to fostering dialogue between design and art, she champions a strong feminist voice within her philosophy, contributing passionately to both communities. Maria Chen is a fashion luminary, symbolising the bridge across diverse artistic realms.
